Future Plans

My goals before the end of the school year are to have the final draft of A Trail of Blood and Tears up on Amazon and get a copy on the shelves of the high school library, This spring, I will be finishing up with the story and taking my first shot at self-publishing, building my skills as an author. This summer, I will probably be continuing the graphic novel exploration I’ve started this year. Given the hyper-specific visualization that was happening while writing the story, I can easily see how it can be adapted. This is what I've been exploring this year in AP Art class, and I want to continue that exploration beyond what I’m submitting to the College Board. (Although, I would like to take a break before taking on the project of adapting a 630-page book into a graphic novel trilogy. I do have another story concept that I want to play around with again – one that also derailed once upon a time.)

When I go off to college in August, I know I want to study Creative Writing – at least as a minor for a side gig writing career if it doesn’t look like it’s going to be stable enough to be my main career. I also want to continue my poster work in college. The college I’m largely leaning towards, Willamette University, has a strong Theatre program, which will probably have a position (or a team) for designing Posters for their productions.

In my lifetime, I want to write and publish more novels and graphic novels and maybe a few collections of short stories. However, my biggest dream is to have my ideas made into an animated show, since that’s the format and look my imagination works in while I’m writing. I have also had this suggested to me by some of my peers in my AP art class, who have seen my graphic novel exploration. Animation and screenwriting could be another possible field of study I could enter. Even though I know absolutely nothing about it to begin with, I think it would feel more plausible as a future path once I learn more.
